I hadn't really made a plan for Capitol Reef, and we didn't really end up doing anything. There was a hike to an arch but by the time we found out about it it was too late in the day to get it done. So we did a portion of the scenic drive and checked out the visitor's center before moving on to Bryce Canyon.
Once again we were so lucky to have some clouds in the sky! Especially since we did the Navajo Loop Trail. We went alllllll the way down into the canyon and it was so fun. The way back up was a bit rough, but luckily we weren't in direct sunlight for most of it.
This is right at the bottom/entrance of the canyon.

There were dozens of trees, yes TREES. I'm amazed at how they've grown and survived with such little sunlight and water.
We walked through the steep canyon walls for a while before it opened up into the "gardens" which is basically just scrub bushes haha.
I thought I'd get tired of red rocks by the end of the trip, but NOPE. They're still just as vibrant and stunning as before.
After making our way back up the trail we got the best view of Bryce Canyon. It's breathtaking! The view was crisp and clear, and we could see for miles, it's truly beautiful.
Here's McKay holding Thor's Hammer, the more popular rock formation in the park. I take one look at this photo and laugh as I say to myself " He's such a dad". hahaha
The visitor's center was busy busy busy! They had a little museum and the kids section had a tunnel. James spent a good 10 minutes running back and forth just squealing with joy! We sure love our little guy. Here he is peeking out of the window.
