Latourell Falls
After two weeks of straight rain, we finally got some "sunshine". And by that I mean it was still pretty overcast... but at least there was no rain! I'm not a fan of the dreary weather, but since the summer was so dry, I'm grateful the plants in the area are finally getting some moisture. McKay had the day off, so up the gorge we went! This adventure consisted of Latourell Falls, the first waterfall you come across when you enter the Columbia Gorge. As usual, we had a great time. It was a quick one, the trail is a 2.5 mile loop and we ended up going 3 miles since we wandered around and explored a little. Here are our favorite photos!

Running along the trail!
Upper Latourell Falls
You can take a little detour from the trail to check out a spectacular view of the gorge. It looks out from the very top of Lower Latourell Falls, so there is a 270 foot cliff only a few feet from where we were standing. EEEEP!
I surprised McKay by hiding a small mason jar of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider in our CamelBak (for those of you that know McKay, he is OBSESSED with Martinelli's. He would drink it with every meal if he could! haha). These next few photos are his reaction when I pulled it out ...and then his face when we realized it looked like a jar of pee. Good thing he drank it fast so nobody saw!
Random bendy tree! I wish I had gotten a photo of McKay climbing down AKA hanging on for dear life out of this tree. Don't worry, he made it out alive! hahaha
We love the Columbia Gorge!!
