Punchbowl Falls

Two words. SO COLD. That's how we felt after swimming at Punchbowl! We absolutely loved this hike. It was a very easy hike in and the chance to swim around made it all the better! Next time we come to Punchbowl Falls we want to jump of this 30 ft. cliff we saw some other people jumping off of. It looked SO FUN. The water was ice cold but crystal clear. It was almost scary how well you could see the rocks on the riverbed.



Along the trail there was a massive tree that had fallen over. Its trunk hung out over the cliff, so naturally we scrambled along the trunk to see what views we could find. You can tell the tree is climbed on ALL the time, instead of round, the trunk was almost flat for the first 30 feet or so. We decided to turn around once the tree started wobbling a bit more. We like adventure but we're not dumb! There's a drop of probably a couple hundred feet in this photo.

Hooray for blurry iPhone pictures! I was not about to swim my $800 Canon out there... Yikes!
